Description

This requirement is for the EX-792 Container. The EX-792 Container is a reuseable controlled breathing, humidity controlled container constructed of double side wall extruded aluminum. It is comprised of a cover assembly and base assembly and incorporates an inner shock mitigating system, which utilizes elastomeric shock mounts to protect one torpedo during shipping, handling, and storage. Elastomeric shock mounts will be supplied GFE to the contractor for Base Year quantities. The container features a restraint system to prevent internal movement. Other features include side fork pockets, Mk 45 Handlift Truck endlift fittings, hoist/tiedown rings, sealing gasket, desiccant holder, over-the-center tension type latches, a center lift feature built-in to the cover, and stacking provisions. The contractor shall also provide additional common spare parts items. The container will experience truck, rail (on-station movement only), air, and transfer-at-sea operations embracing both Connected Replenishment (CONREP) and Vertical Replenishment (VERTREP) methods of transfer. The procurement quantity is as follows: Base Year, quantity 27 each for production. Option Year I and II quantity 20 each. The Base Year production and delivery time frame is as follows: Quantity of 7 Prototype Containers shall be delivered FOB Destination to NSWC IHD Det Earle, Colts Neck, NJ, 120 Days after contract award. These 7 containers shall undergo design evaluation to be performed by NSWC Det Earle. Quantity of 20 Production Containers incorporating design modifications shall be delivered FOB Destination to NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV Keyport, WA, 120 Days after NSWC IHD Det Earle provides written notification of Completion of Prototype Evaluation. Manufacture of the 20 Production Containers shall not commence until NSWC Det Earle provides this notification. Each Option Year quantity if exercised, shall be delivered 120 days after exercise of option. Elastomeric shock mounts will not be provided as GFE for option quantities. This will be a small business 100% set-a-side. See Note 1. This will be a firm fixed price contract, with a period fo performance of 120 days after date of contract award of base year and exercise of option years I and II. Award shall be based on "Best Value". The small business size SIC code is 332312for this procurement with a company employee's amount of 500 employees and the Federal Supply Class is 8140. This solicitation will be available for downloading from our website beginning approximately 28 Feb 2001. Prior to this date, you will not be able to access this solicitation.
