B -- INDUSTRY DAY, SPACE & MISSILE DEFENSE BATTLE LAB/US ARMY SPACE COMMAND DUE 030298 POC Ms. Paris Yucaba (719) 554-4201 On 10 March 1998, the Space and Missile Defense Battle Lab (SMDBL) and U. S. Army space Command (USARSPACE) will host a day-long industry conference. The theme of this conference is "Army Space Support Team Requirements-Current and Future." The conference will be held at the Peterson Air Force Base Theater, 355 Vincent street (across from the base chapel) in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The purpose of this conference is two-fold; to educate industry and interested military representatives on how space contributes to the warfighter and to provide details on Army Space Support Team (ARSST) requirements. The conference will detail USARSPACE's vision for the future, and focus on requirements for individual systems. Participants will also be briefed on our Broad Agency Announcement, available for submission of proposals for relevant capabilities. During the conference, the SMDBL will demonstrate the Hardware Support Integration Center (HSIC) and provide an overview of the current Army Space Exploitation Demonstration Program (ASEDP) initiatives. All administrative and briefing materials will be available on the USARSPACE homepage (www.arspace.com) under "Industry Day." COL Otis Ferguson, Commander USARSPACE, will open our conference with a presentation entitled "Space as a Combat Multiplier." LTC Richard Brisson, Chief, Operations Division, will provide an overview of the ARSST mission- past, present, and future. LTC Frankie Moore, ARSST Team Chief, will provide a detailed description of current ARSST capabilities and current/future user requirements. Government Battle Lab participants are encouraged to remain in Colorado Springs an additional day for a follow-on meeting with SMDBL representatives. This meeting will be conducted at the SMDBL Headquarters at 1670 N. Newport road, Colorado Springs, Colorado. The purpose of this meeting will be to discuss current SMDBL initiatives and future ASEDP program requirements for FY 99 and FY 00. POC for this meeting is Major Frank Cox, DSN 692-4214. Meetings on both days will be held at the secret level. All attendees must submit a valid visit certification/visit request to confirm attendance.
