- Description
- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) intends to extend, on a single source basis, GEO 7 Task Order 2 by up to an additional 5-years, if all options are exercised, with Leidos, Inc. located in Reston, VA. The FAA intends to extend Phase 3 of GEO 7 Task Order 2, which consists of GEO satellite and Ground Uplink Station (GUS) lease services, by up to 5 additional years. This extension will utilize single source procedures. In accordance with FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS) Procurement Guidance T3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a single source when it is determined to be in the best interest of the FAA. Leidos, Inc. is the only source capable of meeting the FAA's requirement of extending the GEO 7 satellite and GUS leases as they are the current provider of the GEO 7 satellite and GUS leases under Task Order 2 and there are no other satellite payloads on orbit which can support the WAAS requirements of maintaining a three GEO constellation. Additionally, Leidos has an existing GUS site design, processes, and tools approved to meet WAAS requirements under this current task order. This announcement is for informational purposes only and is not a Solicitation/Screening for Information Request/Request for Proposal. This extension will be awarded to Leidos, Inc. and is not available for full and open competition. Note: FAR references cited in SAM.gov are not applicable to the FAA as the FAA has its own policies and guidance referenced in the FAA AMS.
