Description
NASA has designed a course focusing on areas of business management that are critical for success in competing for NASA contracts and subcontracts. The NASA course is known as Training and Development of Small Businesses in Advanced Technologies (TADSBAT). The Internet Home Page for the NASA Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization contains additional information on this program at: www.hq.nasa.gov/office/cokek or http://www.mta-inc.com . BACKGROUND: Nearly one-third of NASA's approximate $11 billion annual contracting budget is spent on prime and subcontracts to small businesses. More than $2 billion is awarded to small disadvantaged businesses, women-owned firms and minority educational institutions. Yet there are still small business out there that are intimidated at going after NASA contracts and subcontracts because they erroneously believe that it is overly complex and cumbersome. The TADSBAT course was created to show small businesses how to market to NASA, how to compete for NASA contracts and subcontracts, how to perform contracts for NASA, and how to close out contracts for NASA. Since 1994, NASA has provided this training to over 1200 small businesses owners and executives with overwhelming success. The course is offered FREE (no registration fee). ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: All small businesses are eligible for this course, along with Small Disadvantaged Businesses (including women-owned), Historically Black College and Universities and Minority Institutions that possess technical capabilities related to NASA's mission and the five strategic enterprises as discussed in NASA's strategic plan at: http://www.hq.nasa.gov/office/nsp/cover.html. .
