Description

This is a modification to the two previously submitted Commerce Business Daily announcement Submission numbers 50D9C9, dated February 16, 2001 and 50I2K5, dated April 4, 2001. This notification indicates that the Phase One Solicitations for the Firm-Fixed Price Design-Build contract for the design and construction of a Medium Security Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) to be located in Butner, North Carolina, will be available on or about November 21, 2001. The Design-Build contract type will be a Firm-Fixed Price with Award Fee. The solicitation will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration?s Federal Business Opportunities web site http://www.fedbizopps.gov with a tentative closing date of December 21, 2001. Hard copies of the solicitation document will not be available even if you previously requested a copy. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information about this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. The medium security facility will have a gross building area of approximately 39,296.4 square meters (422,997 square feet), and be designed to house approximately 1,152 inmates. The Unicor Warehouse (for Federal Prisons Industries) shall be approximately 1,250 square meters (13,500 sf) with a 925 square meter (10,000 sf) Option addition.
