Description

The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate solely with Evac + Chairs Corporation, located at 17 East 67th Street, New York, NY 10021 to obtain Evac + Chairs and Dust Covers. These chairs are used for evacuation purposes to remove disabled persons in an emergency situation. The chairs required must weigh between zero and twenty pounds, be able to support and transport up to 350 pounds, be easily assembled in one minute or less for emergency use, be stable and maneuverable in stairwells and three foot spaces, be effectively used by one individual with a minimum of 1 hour training, and must be able to ?slide? done stair on skids. SSA is not considering chairs whose belts are attached to rollers. Evac + Chairs Corporation is the only known source which can provide the required chairs. This is not a request for quotations or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. The Government does not intend to pay for information received. All interested parties must respond with in 5 calendar days from the date of this notice. Written responses must provide clear and concise documentation indicating your firm?s capability to provide the chairs described above. Verbal responses are not acceptable and will not be considered. When responding to this announcement, respondents should refer to SSA-02-8304. If after November 13, 2001, no viable responses have been received in response to this announcement, SSA shall negotiate solely with Evac + Chairs Corporation.
