Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items in accordance with the information in Far subpart 12.6 as supplemented with the additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a written solicitation will not be issued. The RFQ number is N49399-02-T-0006 using simplified acquisition procedures for commercial items. This solicitation document incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through FAR and DFARS. It is the contractor s responsibility to be familiar with the applicable clauses and provisions. The clauses may be accessed in full test at these addresses: www.arnet.gov and www.acq.osd.mil. The intent of this procurement is to issue an idefinite delivery type purchase order (IDTPO) to a single contractor for this requirement.The estimated quanity is 400 tons per year.The term is base year nov 5 2001 thru sept 30 2002,option year 1, oct 1,2002 thru sep 30,2003,option year 2, oct 1,2003 thru sept 30,2004 bid all years. Any IDTPO awarded as a result of this solicitation does not itself order any material or obligate any money to pay the contractor only the delivery orders issued after the IDTPO is awarded actually order and direct delivery. The government shall require the awardee of the resultant IDTPO to deliver all material identified on all subsequent delivery orders (either oral confirming or written orders) issued by the purchasing Dept. of Naval Submarine Base, Groton, CT. All orders shall always be confirmed in writing using the form 1449. Salt: bulk rock (to be used for snow removal) FFP Specs: All road salt shall conform to AASHTO M 143 (ASTMD-632) Type 1 Sodium chloride content: only products containing a minimum of 95% or greater of sodium chloride will be accepted. Moisture content: moisture content of delivered road salt will not exceed 2% in cases of a moisture content greater than 2% an adjustment to total weight shall be made by vendor. Anticaking agent: road salt delivered under this contract must be free flowing and granular and treated with an approved conditioner such as sodium ferrecy anide to prevent caking during storage. This conditioner shall be applied before delivery and be visible uniformly throughout the road salt at a maximum rate of 50 parts per million.
