Description

This solicitation is issued for the continued operation and Career Transition Services for the Kittrell Job Corps Center. The resultant contract will be a Cost-Reimbursement Plus Fixed-Fee type and will cover the period June 1, 2002 through May 31, 2004, with three (3) governmental unilateral renewal options for one (1) year each. The RFP will be available on the Job Corps website at http://wdsc.doleta.gov/jobcorps/schedule.html on or about September 28, 2001. The center capacity strength is 350 students of which 150 are residential males, 150 are residential females, 25 are non-residential males and 25 are non-residential females. The contractor will provide Career Transition Services for 1,419 students, 887 center graduates and 532 former enrollees. The contractor shall provide comprehensive career development services to students including; academic, vocational, social and independent living skills, career readiness training and support services. The unique combination of services provided are intended to prepare youth to obtain and hold gainful employment, pursue further education or training, or satisfy entrance requirements for careers in the Armed Forces. The contractor will also provide overall Center Management and Administration as follows: Contract and personnel administration, staff training, financial management, procurement and property management, facility operations and maintenance, security and safety services, community relations, public information, health services, discipline system, mail and legal services. A Pre-proposal conference and Site visit will be held Friday, October 12, 2001 at 10:00am local time at the Kittrell Job Corps Center located at 1096 US Highway 1, South, Kittrell North Carolina, (252) 438-6161. It is recommended that attendees download the RFP prior to attending the pre-proposal conference and site visit and bring the RFP to the conference. All questions prior to and at the pre-proposal conference shall be submitted in writing. Proposals in response to this RFP shall consist of an Oral Presentation and a written submission as described in Section L of the RFP. All written proposals submitted in response to this RFP shall be due no later than Tuesday, November 13, 2001 at 2:00pm local time to the address listed in the RFP. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the Agency.
