Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation is being issued using simplified acquisition procedures. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 97-27. Delivery shall be FOB destination to Maxwell AFB-Gunter Annex AL. It is the contractor?s responsibility to be familiar with applicable clauses and provisions. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 323121 and the size standard is 500 employees. BOOK LEASE PLAN, to supply, in a timely manner, best sellers and current fiction and nonfiction books for the community library at Maxwell AFB-Gunter Annex AL for a period from 01 OCT 2001 through 30 SEP 2002 ? priced per month. The number of books to be 300 per month. The library will determine the books to be leased. The lease plan shall include Automatic Bestseller Maintenance, U. S. MARC records, free shipping, replacement policy, large-print title selections, Customer Support Consultants, and the FAST/SERV listing of current best sellers. =20 Funds are not presently available for this solicitation. The Government?s obligation under this solicitation is contingent upon the availability of appropriated funds from which payment for contract purposes can be made. No legal liability on the part of the Government for any payment may arise until funds are made available to the contracting officer for this contract and until the contractor receives notice of such availability. The government will make an award to the lowest priced, technically acceptable and responsible contractor whose proposal conforms to the Statement of Work and is the best value to the government. The contractor must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. =20 Include a complete copy of the provision at FAR 52.212-3 Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items (Apr 2001), and DFARS 252.225-7000 Buy American Act-Balance of Payments Program Certificate (Sep 1999) with the quotation.
