Description

The U.S Department of Energy, Savannah River Operations Office (DOE-SR), near Aiken, SC, intends to enter into a non-competitive contract with the Florida International University (FIU), Hemispheric Center for Environmental Technology (HCET). This action is authorized under 41 U.S.C. 253 (c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1. FIU-HCET will provide technical and research and development (R&D) services to the DOE/SR Environmental Restoration Division in the support of its restoration and remediation program at the Savannah River Site. FIU is a Minority Serving Institution with unique capabilities and experience in supporting Department of Energy sites in researching, developing, demonstrating and deploying environmental technologies. FIU-HCET has supported the DOE's Environmental Management (EM) Program at numerous DOE sites, and has developed unique facilities and resources to support the mission and objectives of the EM Program. Concerns having the ability to furnish the required services are requested to give written notification (including name and telephone number for a point of contact) along with a detailed description of the concern's capabilities and evidence that the concern can perform the actions. This information shall be submitted by September 11, 2001, to the U.S. Department of Energy, Savannah River Operations Office, Attn: Parodio Maith, P.O.
