Description

The Coastal Systems Station, Dahlgren Division, NSWC, Panama City, Florida intends to solicit Rockwell Collins, 400 Collins Road NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52498 on a sole-source basis for Global Positioning System (GPS) modules part number 987-1856-XX1. This is a commercial off-the-shelf part. Basis for sole-source action is that these modules will be incorporated into custom unmanned underwater vehicles (UUV) designed and developed by the Coastal Systems Station, and the substitution of any other GPS module at this time would require redesign of these UUV. It is estimated that the cost of the design effort required to incorporate a new GPS module would be in excess of three times the cost of these GPS modules. Delivery will be to the Coastal Systems Station, 6703 West Highway 98, Panama City, Florida, 32407-7001. Required delivery date is not later than 08 December 2001.
