Description

PROCUREMENT ANNOUNCEMENT. PURSUANT TO P.L. 100-656, SMALL BUSINESS COMPETITIVENESS DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM, THIS SOLICITATION IS CLASSIFIED AS UNRESTRICTED. The contractor shall provide all labor, material, equipment, supervision, and transportation to construct LOGISTICS FACILITY AT LEATHERNECK SQUARE, MARINE CORPS RECRUIT DEPOT, PARRIS ISLAND, SOUTH CAROLINA. Work includes, but is not limited to, construction of reinforced concrete block building with brick veneer, housing toilet and administrative functions, light gage metal trussed roof system and asphalt or metal roofing supported on spread footing foundation system, grading, grassing, underground sanitary sewer and water service, power and telephone connections, and incident related work. The NAICS Code is 233320, Administration Building Construction, with the size standard of $27.5 Million. The estimated range for this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. The estimated period of performance is two-hundred and seventy (270) calendar days. The estimated solicitation release date is 08/24/01, and the estimated due date for bids is 09/24/01. This solicitation will only be awarded to businesses registered on the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) on line system at ww.ccr.disc.dia.mil-cil or contact the CCR Assistance Center at 1-888-227-2423. IN ORDER FOR A CONTRACTOR TO RECEIVE AN AWARD, THEY MUST BE REGISTERED IN THE CCR SYSTEM prior to bid opening. The Government intends on issuing the solicitation through the use of the Internet only. All prospective bidders and plan rooms must register on the web-site. The entire solicitation, with drawings, will be available for viewing and downloading at http://esol.navfac.navy.mil. The download time may be excessive. The official planholders list will be maintained and can be printed from the web-site. Amendments will be posted on the web-site for downloading. This will normally be the only method of distributing amendments; therefore, IT IS THE OFFEROR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK THE WEB-SITE PERIODICALLY FOR ANY AMENDMENTS TO THIS SOLICITATION. As an alternative to the web-site, contractors may purchase copies of a compact disk (CD ROM) containing the plans and specifications for an approximate fee of $15.00 from the Defense Automated Printing Service (DAPS), 2825 Avenue D, Suite B, North Charleston, SC 29408-1802.
