Description

This is a notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with Gregory Poole Equipment Company, Hope Mills, North Carolina, to provide remedial on-call repair services for Government-Owned Caterpillar heavy equipment (to include, but not limited to: 950B Wheel Loaders, 613B Scrapers, 130G Graders, DV100 Deuces, LMTVs, M1088 Tractors, M1094-5T Dumps, and M1089 Wreckers) for the period 1 January 2002 throug 31 December 2002 (Plus 4 one-year option periods). The NAICS Code is 811310 and the size standard is $5 million. The proposed contract action is for supplies/services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, Gregory Poole Equipment Company, an authorized Caterpillar area dealer, under authority of FAR 6.302. Currently, public access to DoD websites is being denied due various computer viruses. Potential bidders are advised to continue attempting web site access at: http://www.bragg.army.mil/www-doc/Contractors/SOLICIT.htm. The Army expects access to be restored promptly, however, it is the responsibility of the potential bidder to ensure they have complete copy of the solicitation and all amendments. Interested parties may identify interest and capability by submitting technical and pricing data within 15 days of publication of this notice to the address above. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however, all proposals received within 15 days after publication of this notice will be considered by the Government. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice, but will be used to determine if a comparable source or offerors are available and more advantageous to the Government. If no affirmation written response is received, the contract will be awarded without further notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. See Note 22.
