Description
This synopsis is being resubmitted with a correction. The Original synopsis was submitted on August 2, 2001 under Submission No. 50T8D4. All details of Original synopsis remain unchanged with one exception -- SOLICITATION NUMBER (SOL) IS CHANGED TO READ: Not Applicable. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a written solicitation will not be issued. The Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) requires a service that provides a database with comprehensive fundamental financial statement data for publicly traded companies in the U.S. and Canada and a global database with comprehensive fundamental financial statement data for publicly traded companies worldwide to be used by the Commission's Division of Corporation Finance and Office of Economic Analysis. These databases shall provide both current and historical data with at least 20 years of data for the North American companies and at least 10 years of data for foreign companies, updated weekly and monthly respectively. These databases need to be accessible through software that enables a user to analyze the data. This service also needs to provide access to a database of corporate and market information that can be searched by company, country, and industry. The service shall operate on Commission-owned SEC computers, on a multi-user Windows NT environment. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. The SEC intends to award a five-year contract to Standard & Poor's Compustat Services, Inc. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by Aug 13 01 will be considered by the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
