Description
SYNOPSIS. Furnish all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to construct an extension to the Coastal Patrol Boat (CPB) Office Storage Building. The project includes the following: (1) Construct a building extension at the Unit?s Storage Building, consisting of a reinforced concrete foundation, concrete masonry walls, prefabricated wood trusses with asphalt shingle roof, and associated mechanical and electrical work, (2) Provide a unisex restroom with associated mechanical and electrical work, (3) Asbestos abatement of transite panels, floor tiles and roofing debris, (4) Install Government-furnished equipment consisting of a 500-gallon fuel tank and a 4000-gallon diesel fuel tank and three fuel dispensers. The contractor shall furnish and install hard pipe connections. (5) Lighting retrofit at selected areas of the Station Building and (6) Installation of buried electrical site utility lines. There is a charge of $30.00 for the bid package. The check should be made payable to the U. S. Coast Guard and forwarded to CEU Miami. The request for a bid package must be submitted in writing. The applicable NAICS Code is 233320, with a three-year average annual receipts small business size standard of 27.5 million. Bid guarantee, payment, and performance bonds are required. This solicitation is being issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is open to both small and large business concerns. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which will be considered by this agency. Those who have previously requested this project under the Presolicitation Notice , posted on 03/26/2001, do not need to request again. The request for a bid package must be submitted in writing and can be faxed to: (305) 278-6696. For: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises : The Department of Transportation ( DOT) Office of Small Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSBDU), has a program to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guarantee on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.00.
