Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to issue an order on a sole source basis with Construction Industry Institute (CII), Austin, TX as a commercial service using the simplified procedures authorized by FAR Subpart 13.5. The Building and Fire Research Laboratory of NIST requires the resources provided via membership with CII in defining research needs to result in benefits such as reduced costs, shortened delivery time, and improved quality and safety for the construction industry. CII is a unique organization of facility owners, construction contractors and federal agencies that was formed by the Business Roundtable to improve the total quality and cost effectiveness of the US construction industry from project conception to successful start-up operations. The period of performance is for one year with four one-year option periods. FOB Destination Gaithersburg, MD. No solicitation package will be issued. The anticipated award date of the order is on or around July 20, 2001.=20
