Description

The Naval Air Systems Command intends to award a firm-fixed-price delivery order to Bell Helicopter Textron, Inc. (BHTI), P.O. Box 482, Fort Worth, TX 76101-0482 under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-99-G-1554 for an H-1 engineering study. BHTI will study two UH-1N and five HH-1N aircraft, which have been reclaimed from storage at Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Center (AMARC), to determine cost, amount of work, and equipment necessary to bring, only the portions of each aircraft that will be retained for the UH-1Y, up to the minimum standard for induction into the "UH-1Y" remanufacture line. The study will include, but is not limited to the following: material condition, airframe and avionics changes, or portions thereof, required to reach baseline configuration; nomenclature and part number of only those items listed in the technical directives that will be retained in the UH-1Y after remanufacture and that must be provided to BHTI as government furnished material/equipment; sustaining engineering and GFE required. BHTI is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the H-1 helicopter. The period of performance for this order will be 60 days from award. This procurement is being contracted on a basis of "other than full and open competition," and this synopsis is for informational purposes only.
