Description

NASA/MSFC plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the development of magnetic radiation shielding concepts based on Mini-Magnetosphere-Plasma Propulsion Concept. NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the study from the University of Washington, PO Box 351650, Seattle, WA 98195; this will be purchased pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, which implements the authority for 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) for acquisitionof supplies or services from only one source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Market research was conducted and an exhaustive search was performed and a determination was made that there is no other source available to provide a conceptual design based on the Mini-Magnetosphere-Plasma-Propulsion Concept for radiation shielding. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. See Note 22. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency.
