Description: The U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC is contemplating award of a contract for Tube Liner Forgings for the XM297 Crusader Cannon. The quantities are 14 each thick walled Tube Liner Forgings and 14 each thick walled Jacket Forgings manufactured from High-quality ESR Gun Steel. The contractor shall perform First Article Inspection of two (2) Liner Forgings and shall provide processing information in the form of records, reports and certifications. All Liner and Jacket Forgings shall be manufactured in accordance with appropriate drawings and specifications. The proposed chemical composition and heat-treatment of the Liner and Jacket Forgings shall be submitted in the contractor's bid. The contractor must have the requisite engineering staff, equipment, and expertise to satisfy the U.S. Government's requirements. The forgings and its components are on the Military Critical Techlologies List (MCTL), Aug 1996. Therefore, the Forgings TDP is restricted by the Arms Export Control Title Act, Title 22, U.S.C. Sec 2751 and is subject to DoD Directives 5230.24 and 5230.25. All requests for TDP must include a certified copy of DD Fform 2345, "Military Critical Technical Data Agreement." See Numbered Notes 8 and 25.
