Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Durham NC is seeking potential sources for a software package of Medical Information Technology to incorporate into their compliance program. The software must be able to integrate with the facility's VHA software packages, i.e. VISTA-Patient Care Encounter, Computerized Patient Record System, Surgical Laboratory, Radiology, and Discharge Summaries. The software is required to contain but not be limited to the following: 1. Claim Analyzer -- the capability to review and edit insurance claims prior to submission to insurance companies for correct coding of ICD-9-CM, CPT and HCPC codes and modifiers. 2. Data Validation -- provide the capability to compare codes (CPT, ICD 9-CM, HCPCS) assigned to electronic medical documentation to ensure correct coding assignment and sequencing of codes based on relative value units. 3. Feedback -- have the ability for clinicians to access the system (via desktop computer) and review performance relative to correct code assignments and make changes where indicated. 4. Coding Edits -- Check codes assigned to ensure that only valid codes are input with alerts, messages and selection menus for correction. 5. Reports -- have the capability to generate management reports from input data for productivity,coding accuracy and errors that were input on dated intervals. No written solicitation exist. Packages should include technical data sufficient to determine capability to provide the desired item, brief description of company experience and references of current locations where the same of similar software is currently being used by a medical facility. Any business source able to provide an existing software package as described herein is encouraged to respond to this announcement within 15 days. Respondents shall identify and provide copies of the FSS(s) and specific Special Item Numbers (SINs) which correlate to this requirement. This may service as the only notice of this requirement.
