Description

SUBJECT: The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIRSYSCOM) intends to extend its Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) No. N00019-99-G-0028 for a period of one (1) year. This BOA is for engineering services and repair of repairables to support the Harpoon Weapon System (HWS), the Standoff Land Attack Missile (SLAM) and the Standoff Land Attack Missile Expanded Response (SLAM ER) from the McDonnell Douglas Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company (Boeing), P.O. Box 516, St. Louis, MO 63166-0156. The supplies and services to be procured include engineering studies, reports, and changes regarding Harpoon/SLAM/SLAM ER operational readiness, reliability, configuration, aerodynamic characteristics, improved performance capabilities, repair of repairables, and related integrated logistics support. Boeing, as the manufacturer and integrator of these systems, has acquired the unique experience, special skills, proprietary data, facilities and manufacturing techniques required to produce, assemble and integrate this equipment and furnish the supplies and services anticipated. All orders placed under this BOA will be announced in accordance with FAR 5.2. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. A determination by the Government not to compete any of the orders under this BOA is solely within the discretion of the Government. GENERAL INFORMATION: McDonnell Douglas Corp. (MDC) is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of Harpoon and SLAM/SLAM ER missiles and is the only known firm with the necessary knowledge, technical data, equipment, facilities, and experience to perform this effort.
