DESCRIPTION: REFERENCE SUBMISSION 50O1F3, PUBLISHED JUNE 6, 2001. THE NORTH AMERICAN INDUSTRY CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (NAICS) CODE WAS INCORRECT IN THE ORIGINAL ANNOUNCEMENT. THIS EFFORT WILL BE SET ASIDE FOR ALL SMALL BUSINESSES UNDER NAICS CODE 541690, WITH A SIZE STANDARD OF $5.0 MILLION ANNUAL REVENUES. The original announcement (corrected) is restated in its entirety as follows: The Department of Energy (DOE) intends to issue a competitive Solicitation set aside for small business concerns on or about June 25, 2001. DOE anticipates awarding a cost-plus-award-fee, performance-based, level-of-effort contract for a three-year base period with two one-year option periods. The Contractor shall assist DOE in the performance of technical reviews, analyses, research, surveys, investigations, and audits of potential violations of nuclear safety requirements; and provide documentation in support of the Office of Price-Anderson Enforcement's mission. The contractor's support shall be provided to the Office of Price-Anderson Enforcement in the Washington, DC, Metropolitan area and shall require travel to DOE operations offices and to DOE and other Federal contractor locations in which nuclear facilities are located and nuclear activities are conducted. Personnel involved in certain activities under this contract will be working in restricted areas with classified data and information, including Restricted Data, and will be controlled pursuant to established DOE security procedures. As such, the Contractor is responsible for ensuring its personnel possess an appropriate DOE security clearance in accordance with DOE Order 5631.2C, Personnel Security Program. The Contractor shall provide support in reviews of the following areas: preparation for and assistance in conducting enforcement investigations; assisting in reviews of nuclear facility safety issues for regulatory compliance; improvement of nuclear facility safety standards and operating requirements; supporting enforcement activities in nuclear licensing or any related regulatory framework, nuclear regulatory processes and procedures, and development of regulatory requirements for nuclear facilities; and assisting in reviews of complex, technical nuclear issues. The Contractor shall provide specialized experience, materials, supplies, workspace, and equipment in the performance of this effort. All work performed under the contract shall be directed by the DOE Contracting Officer through the issuance of Task Assignments which will specify required services, deliverables, and delivery schedules. This effort will be set aside under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 541690 (size standard $5.0 Million). The solicitation will be posted on DOE's Industry Interactive Procurement System (IIPS) website. Interested firms should check the IIPS website at the address below to obtain the actual release date. Copies of the solicitation and amendments will be available by downloading from the IIPS home page located at address: <http://doe-iips.pr.doe.gov/>; There will be no hard (paper) copies of the solicitation made available. Firms must register in the IIPS system in order to download the solicitation and submit proposals.
