Description

1. The Military Traffic Management Command (MTMC) has a requirement to solicit rates and services for the procuremet of intermodal container and breakbulk services for the carriage of Department of Defense cargo between CONUS points and ports and the Ascension Island, South Atlantic. Carrier must maintain regularly schedule liner service throughout the period of the contract via a self-sustaining geared vessel(s). The Government will ship in addition to breakbulk of various sizes, 20' dry, 20' refrigerated and 20'controlled atmosphere containers as well as 20' flatrack and open top containers. 2. The proposed solicitation is 100% set aside for small business concerns. 3. The solicitation is expected to be release on or about June 29, 2001. No paper copy will be issued. All Request for Proposals (RFP) and related documents may be downloaded at the following website: http://www.mtmc.army.mil/jtmo/default.htm. 4. A preproposal conference is tentatively scheduled for July 18th. Further details will be posted to the website for time and place at a later date. 5.
