Description
This Request for Information (RFI) is issued by the Directorate of Contracting for potential sources that will aid the government to meet the following requirement. This RFI is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a request for proposal (RFP). The government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of the RFI or otherwise pay for the information solicited. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of submission of responses to this RFI and the Government's use of such information. Respondents of this RFI may be requested to provide additional information/details based on their initial submittals. This requirement is for the lease of information technology equipment to include lease of 2000 desktop computers and laptops per year for a total of 10,000 in a five-year period. The minimum standards for the desktop are, intel central processing unit, 1GB, 128MB memory, 20GB hard disk drive, 3.5" floppy, PC card (PCMCIA) reader, 40X CD Rom, 64 bit PCI graphics board with 1280X1024 resolution, 2MB, 17" color monitor, 10/100T fast ethernet network card, 16 bit sound, 56kbps v.9b modem, Win 2000 Pro operating system, office 2000 pro application on both the desktop and laptops. The minimum standards for the laptop are: intel based central processing unit, 850MHZ or better, semi ruggedized, 128MB of memory, 256k L2 cache, removable 10GB hard drive, 3.5" floppy disk drive, 20X CD Rom, 64 bit graphics board with 1280X1204 resolution, 2MB video card, 14.1" color dual scan monitor, lithium ion battery, 10/100T fast Ethernet network interface card, 16 bit sound, 56kbps v.9 modem. The contractor shall repair on site. The customer shall install client software and peripheral hardware without voiding warranties. Laptops may be deployable to war zones without voiding any warranties. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the government.
