Description

Defense Information System Agency (DISA) is soliciting interested industry participants to review and provide comments on the development of a performance specification/standard to define the functional requirements for digital microwave radios (DMR) and associated modems/multiplexers used to support the transmission of asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) traffic. The purpose of the specification/standard is to standardize on the capabilities needed to counter the burst error and signal fading effects of multipath distortion on transmission links between DMR terminals. This specification/standard states the requirements in terms of required results with criteria for verifying compliance, but without stating the methods for achieving the required results. Industry organizations participating in this effort will do so at their own expense.
