Description
SOURCES SOUGHT NOTE: This sources sought announcement is being published to correct the e-mail address previously provided. The Product Manager, Aircrew Integrated Systems (PM ACIS), is currently investigating potential Aircraft Wireless Intercom Systems (AWIS) capable of providing a self-contained voice communications capability for aircraft personnel during ground operations and while in flight. It is envisioned the AWIS will be installed in fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft with the capability to provide simultaneous omni-directional secure and unsecure voice communications to all users. The wireless intercom shall provide a ground envelope for rotary wing aircraft of at least 100 feet to a maximum of 500 feet from the center of the aircraft. It shall support several aircraft nets with up to six crewmembers in each net, operating within 1/2 mile of each other without interference. Since the wireless intercom system will be used in ground and flight conditions, it must operate in an aircraft environment (altitude, temperature, shock, etc). PM ACIS requests information from potential suppliers, which addresses wireless communications technology and capabilities, and recent experience placing successful modifications into Army aircraft. If possible, information should include the vendor's experience with ADS-37A-PRF (Army E3 performance specifications). The Army is looking for a second quarter FY02 award for a study. Information or questions/concerns regarding this Sources Sought announcement, and requests to be included on the mailing list, shall be sent, in writing, to Kent Wieter, ATTN: SFAE-AV-AES-TM, Bldg. 5681, Redstone Arsenal, AL 35898 no later than June 15, 2001. The e-mail address for Mr. Wieter is kent.wieter@peoavn.redstone.army.mil . Responses should include the name, telephone number and e-mail address of a point of contact having authority and knowledge to discuss responses with government representatives. Information obtained as a result of this announcement may be used in the development of the Statement of Work for the solicitation. This Sources Sought announcement is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a request for proposal (RFP) or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this announcement or otherwise pay for the information solicited.
