Description

The Small Arms Ammunition Branch (Code 4083) Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane, In is issuing this Request For Information (RFI). Code 4083 is presently conducting a market survey. Sources are sought that can provide Commercial-Off-The Shelf (COTS) 9mm Short Range Training Ammunition (SRTA) for use in the 9mm Sig Sauer P226 pistol to meet future training/operational requirements. The 9mm SRTA cartridge shall comply with American National Standard/Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers' Institute (ANSI/SAMMI) chamber pressure requirements for 9mm Luger, and or US Army chamber pressure requirements for 9mm cartridge. The 9mm SRTA cartridge is required to function reliably in the P226 between the temperature range of +125 degrees F to 25 degrees F. Interested vendors are encouraged to plan on making test sample lots available for purchase (500 rounds min). The government may wish to test various samples with the intent of down-selecting for future contract award. Test sample cartridges are required to be available no later than July 13, 2001.
