Description

SWITCHYARD RENOVATION, WHITNEY POWERPLANT, LAGUNA PARK, TX. Contractors will be required to furnish all labor, materials, permits, equipment, and services necessary for removal and disposal of five (5) 69 kv oil circuit breakers (with oil) including modifying associated foundations, two (2) complete and one partial motor operated 69 kv disconnect switches, eight (8) complete and two partial manually (crank-handle) operated 69 kv disconnect switches, two (2) complete and one partial ground switches, 13.9 kv and 69 kv pin type insulators, seven (7) potential transformers (with oil), two (2) spare OCB bushings, 1200 gallons of stored insulating oil, main auxiliary and 13.8 kv copper bus. Removal of three (3) potential transformer pedestals including modifying associated foundations, grounding, conduit and cable. Furnish, Deliver and install four (4) SF6 gas insulated 69 kv power circuit breakers, ten (10) manually (crank-handle) operated 69 kv disconnect switches, seven (7) potential transformers, 13.8 kv and 69 kv station-post insulators and aluminum bus. Perform PCB tests, removal and disposal of PCB contaminated oil and equipment. Painting, miscellaneous welding, machinist. Design and install the modifications to the switchyard structure required to provide horizontal mounting of ten (10) manually operated 69 kv disconnect switches. Duration of project is approximately 180 days. Estimated Cost Range: $250,000 to $500,000. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code applicable to this project is 235310, Electrical Contractors, which corresponds to SIC Code 1731. The Small Business Size Standard is $11.5 Million. Solicitation to be issued on or about 1 June 2001. Proposals due on or about 1 July 2001. The plans and specifications have been placed on Compact Disk (CD-ROM) and will be provided free of charge on the issue date. Plans and specifications will not be provided in a paper hard copy format. Notification of amendments shall be made through 3.5" diskette, CD-ROM and/or the Internet. However, the Government reserves the right to use only the Internet as notification of any changes to this solicitation. It is therefore the contractor's responsibility to check the following address daily for any posted changes to this solicitation.
