Description

The Library of Congress (LC) has a requirement to produce digital audio files, digital images, and analog tape copies of a variety of historical sound recordings in its collections. The project will require conservation treatment and playback of formats that include instantaneous disc recordings, conventional tape recordings including examples in deteriorated condition, and other historical formats. The digital formats to be produced shall be high-resolution files in conventional industry formats, e.g. WAVE and TIFF, that are suitable to serve as preservation copies. The analog tape copies to be produced shall meet current audio preservation standards. The materials received and produced, as well as the treatments and processess applied in the work, are to be thoroughly documented in a relational database. The delivered digital content shall be logically named and/or numbered and delivered on suitable high-capacity media, e.g., Exabyte tapes. A requirements indefinite quantity task order contract with a base year and two (2) option years is anticipated.
