Description
Performance Requirements: Water weights for Crane Load Test Anderson Ranch Dam and Hydro-power Plant Provide water weights (inflatable bags), a load measuring device, any lifting beam or specialized rigging, and the labor to install the water bags and properly fill them to place the correct load for a 125 percent load test on two overhead cranes at Anderson Ranch Dam and powerplant. The powerplant crane is a 60 ton overhead crane with a 10 auxiliary hook. The main 60 ton crane hoist has a hook travel of 35 feet, and the 10 ton hoist a hook travel of 44 feet. The second crane is a 30 ton crane in the outlet works house which has a hook travel of approximately 17 feet. The contractor shall provide an on-site turn-key service for the load testing. The contractor shall provide and suspend the water bags under each crane hook for testing. The bags shall be approved for crane testing and have a safety factor of no less than 6 to 1. The contractor shall provide any specialized rigging and water supply connections that are necessary. Once the bags are suspended under the crane, he shall fill the bags using a load measuring device to provide a certified load of 125 percent of rated crane load. After the correct load is in place the load testing will be conducted by an independent crane testing agency, which will also perform a complete crane inspection before the load test is done. After the load tests are conducted the contractor shall safely drain the bags, and remove them from each crane. Current plans are to do the inspection and load test during the week of June 4 -- 8, 2001. The government reserves the right to revise these dates if circumstances dictate.
