Description

The U.S. Marine Corps (USMC), Family of Light Armored Vehicles (FOLAV), Program Management Office has a requirement for a replacement candidate tire, sole source Titan International Tire Corp. PM-LAV will procure a quantity of 40 each prototype tires developed and manufactured by Titan International Tire Corp. The proposed tire shall meet or exceed all physical, tread, and performance requirements/characteristics of the Michelin 11.00R16XL tire currently be being used by the USMC. The candidate tire must be compatible with the USMC, LAV wheel assembly, (NSN: 2530-21-879-1472) and run-flat insert, (NSN: 2640-01-164-0186). Replacement candidate tire(s) shall be supportable through the service life of the FOLAV, which is 2025. The anticipated release date of the Request for Proposal is 25 May 01. The Government intends to make a sole source award to Titan International Tire Corp., in accordance with 10 U.S.C. 2304 (1) as authorized in FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(i). See number Note 22.
