Description
The National Risk Management Research Laboratory's Air Pollution Prevention and Control Division has a requirement for support for modeling and simulation of physical and chemical processes that may occur within multi-stage CFBA configurations designed for multi-pollutant removal. (1) The successful contractor shall provide a documented Fortran-based computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code, capable of simulating three-dimensional CFBA flow fields with realistic rendering of geometric features and boundary conditions.(2) This code will be used in the design, analysis and optimization of CFBA configurations to achieve prescribed multi-pollutant removal. (3) Physical modeling must be on the Navier-Stokes equations as written for a compressible gas/incompressible solid system. The equation system must be formulated so that simulations of CFBA flow fields in realistic geometries are possible. The code should contain sub-models for different pollutant capture mechanisms. (4) The code shall mod fine PM agglomeration in transient CFBA flow fields. (5) Finally, the code, as developed, must be capable of being coupled with existing gradient-based or genetic optimization strategies for multi-variable optimization. The estimated delivery date for the final product is 3 months from date of purchase order award. The proposed acquisition will be processed in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. A firm, fixed Price purchase order will be issued to the quoter whose quotation offers the best value to the Government. All responsible sources my submit a written quotation which will be considered by the agency. All requests for the RFQ must be in writing and shall be directed to the POC. Requests via fax or e-mail are acceptable. The NAICs code is 54133.
