Description

The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System is seeking a contractor to furnish all necessary labor, tools, materials, supervision to perform all work to install additional outlets for medical gas systems (Oxygen, Medical Air and Vacuum) in Building 51 at Aspinwall Division, Delafield Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15215 in accordance with the drawings and specifications, phasing schedule, and all applicable building codes and requirements. Additional outlets are required to enhance patient care, and provide flexibility in housing and caring for patients in the Nursing Home Care Unit. Work will include, but not be limited to, drywall, painting, oxygen, and other medical gas piping, fire sealing, oxygen system re-certification, and installation of new outlets. All work will require a phasing schedule for construction to minimize disruption to patients and staff, since the building and wards will remain occupied. This solicitation will result in a construction contract in which performance and payment bonding will be required. Cost range for construction is estimated between $100,000 & $250,000. NAICS code for this project is 235110. Performance period is 120 days calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Pre-Bid Conference is scheduled for on or about June 8, 2001 at 10:AM EST at VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, Aspinwall Division, Building 51, Delafield Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15215. This procurement is not restricted and is open to both small and large business concerns. Solicitation packages will be available on or about May 25, 2001.
