Description
NAVSURFWARCEN Crane is requesting information relative to man-portable Thermal Imaging systems currently in production that could enhance U. S. Coast Guard capabilities. Systems, at a minimum, shall be able to detect a man-sized target out to .5 nautical miles. The Thermal Imaging System should operate in either the 3 to 5 or 8 to 12 micron range. The Thermal Imaging System should weigh less than 6 pounds, and be a hand held compact system that is able to withstand a marine environment, have external video output and be capable of being powered by commercial or military batteries and 110V 60Hz power. Information submitted in response to this notice shall include: A synopsis of total system capability and system technical information Rate of production Delivery capability Warranties Supportability Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) Information on training you will provide Your history of providing thermal imagers for similar applications with customer list A summary of any relevant testing you have completed Availability of sample units for demo at NAVSURFWARCEN Crane on a loan basis. Interested potential sources should respond, in writing, to the above request by 21 May 2001. Responses should include information to address the requirements listed above. MARKEY SURVEY -- REQUSEST FOR INFORMATION/SAMPLE MATERIAL. The Navy is issuing this Request for Information /Sources Sought synopsis as part of a market survey. This request is for information that will not be returned to the contractor. The Government is not asking for sample units at this time but only for availability of sample units. Any sample man-portable Thermal Imaging systems provided to the Government at a later date would be on a loan basis. Interested vendors are asked to provide a description of their product as requested above, and sample availability 21 MAY 2001. This notice does not constitute an Invitation for Bid (IFB) or a Request for Proposal (RFP) and it is not a commitment by the U.S. Navy to procure subject equipment. The Government is only seeking information and possible sources for future needs, if and when they arise. No solicitation document exists at this time. THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION OR OTHERWISE PAY FOR THE INFORMATION SOLICITED.
