Description

PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE: Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) Frederick, as the Operational and Technical Support contractor for the National Cancer Institute (NCI), announces their intent to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Construction Services to demolish and rebuild Building 1047 at Ft. Detrick, MD in support of the Biological Testing Branch (BTP). SAIC requests letters/emails from firms interested in participating in a Construction contract to perform the following: total demolition of the existing building, slab and roof, retaining the footings only, reconstruction of the building envelope and new interior walls with all new mechanical, electrical and plumbing services. Approximate size of building 1047 is 1984 sq. ft. Existing utility services (steam, water and electricity) shall be evaluated for adequacy. The estimated cost range for the renovation of Building 1047 is $500,000-$1,000,000. One Construction firm, fixed price contract will be awarded, subject to available funds. This solicitation is open to both small and large business firms. The RFP will be issued on or about May 15, 2001 and proposals will be due 30 calendar days after issuance. Box B, Frederick, MD 21702-1201, or by sending a request via email to the address below. Requests for copies of this RFP should be received in this office not later than 20 calendar days from the date of publication of this notice, in order to facilitate mailing of same.
