Description
The purpose of this Source of Sought is to perform market research for: GENERAL PROTESTANT MUSIC DIRECTOR 1. One individual identified as the Music Director will coordinate directly with the chaplains responsible for the Protestant 0815 and 1100 worship services. 2. The contractor must provide the services defined below. If subcontracting will occur a written list of subcontractor must be provided prior to purchase agreement being signed. 3. Qualifications: a. Must have at least a 2-4 years of college in the following areas of study: 1) Music 2) Voice 3) Conducting 4) Piano; and/or must have at least 5 years experience in directing and singing in a choir in the Christian Protestant Tradition to include Folk, Classical, Traditional, Main Line denominational and contemporary Christian. b. Must be able to instruct and direct the 0815/1100 choir. c. Must select weekly preludes, choral anthems, hymns and choral responses that accommodate different Protestant traditions and styles of workshop of various chaplains. d. Must select, schedule and instruct vocalists(s)/instrumentalist(s) to provide special offertory music. e. Must provide piano/keyboard accompaniment for vocalist(s)/instrumentalist(s). f. Must uphold high ethical and moral standards. g. Must pass interview and chaplains and or music ministry staff, meeting qualifications and displaying capabilities of meeting the following requirements: 1. Must be able to proficiently play a piano. 2. Must be able to play preludes and hymns in syncopation with the organ. 3. Must be able to teach vocal training to vocalists/choir members. 4. Must be able to musically express the mood and style of music hymns and anthems. 4. Responsibilities: a. Coordinates the use of facilities and material requirements with the chapel staff. b. Coordinates music program with chaplains in charge of 0815 and 1100 worship services on a weekly basis. c. Provides a comprehensive music program within the following guidelines: 1. Provide organ for 0815 & 1100 Service. 2. Choral music for 0815 worship service on the fourth Sunday of each month. 3. Special offertory music for 0815 worship service for each Sunday, except the fourth Sunday of each month. 4. Choral music for 1100 worship service for each Sunday, except the fourth Sunday of each month. 5. Special offertory music for 1100 worship service every Sunday, except the first Sunday of each month (Communion Sunday) 6. Special programs as prescribed in the attached schedule. 7. Provide choral introit and choral responses. d. Report a minimum of twenty (20) minutes before worship services to rehears choir. e. Schedule one rehearsal per service to prepare for the weekend service. Rehearsal shall be for a minimum of one hour. f. No additional rehearsals or performances will be conducted without authorization from the Senior Protestant Chaplain. g. Orders and purchases music coordination with the Chaplain advisor following Chaplain fund guidelines. All music must be catalogued and be stamped _Protestant Chaplain Fund_ and maintained in the music library. Copyright laws must be strictly followed.
