Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Roper Scientific, of Trenton, New Jersey, for a Princeton Instruments Spec.10:400BR Digital CCD Spectroscopy System, that will be used to perform spectroscopic measurements in conjunction with existing Princeton Instruments systems..*****Numerous NIST resources such extended wavelength optics, calibration test set certified data, custom designed data analysis and acquisition programs, etc. have been engineered to be used with Princeton Instruments systems. The Digital CCD Spectroscopy System being acquired must be both hardware and software compatible with existing systems. Roper Scientific is, therefore, the only manufacturer that can supply the required system to the Government.*****Delivery shall be FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD, and is required 90 days from receipt of purchase order (ARO).*****The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 333314, and the size standard is 500 Employees.*****No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, responses received by April 24, 2001 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
