Description

The National Institutes of Health intends to negotiate a sole source contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and as contained in FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), with Opelco, Sterling, VA. for a confocal laser scanning microscope system. This system will be used to process and analyze confocal laser scanning microscope images. This system shall be furnished, installed, and shall include all necessary accessories and features as provided for in the following specifications. The confocal laser scanning microscope system shall include, but not be limited to, the following: direct coupled photomultiplier detectors in the scan unit, high resolution imaging software, high quality lasers with excitation lines at 488, 543, and 633 nanometers, high performance computer with a Windows NT operation system, and an inverted research grade microscope mounted on an antivibration table. It is the Government's belief that these requirements can only be met by Opelco, the local authorized Olympus America Inc. representative. Concerns that respond to this notice must furnish concise responses directed specifically to the requirements mentioned above. Sources demonstrating the capability to accomplish the above, shall supply pertinent information in sufficient detail to demonstrate their ability to perform. Information furnished shall include enough material to perform a proper evaluation. Respondents will not be notified of the evaluation results. Closing date is 15 calendar days after publication of this notice. See Numbered Note 22.
