Description

The Regional Services Center Budapest, on behalf of the United States Agency for International Development(USAID) Mission in Croatia intends to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) to solicit proposals from U.S firms to provide technical assistance aiming at removing constraints and market failures impeding the smooth and affordable provision of expert business consulting services, and financial products, to Croatia's small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The Croatian Enterprise Promotion (CEP) activity approach will be to focus on strengthening, the Croatian consulting firms ability to help Croatian SMEs achieve internationally competitive standards such as ISO 9000, ISO 14000 and HACCP, and secure more affordable sources of financing. The activity will also focus on strengthening business/industry associations. The contract is expected to run for 36 months. The RFP, when issued, will provide the final information on the closing date. USAID intends to release the RFP on or about April 25, 2001. Telephone requests for the RFP will not be honored. The preferred method of distribution of USAID procurement information is via the Internet or by request of a solicitation on a 3.5" floppy disk (Microsoft WORD format). If you require a copy of the solicitation in paper form, you must specifically ask for it, but you will not receive both a copy in paper form and a floppy disk.
