Description

It is the is the intent of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) to negotiate on a sole source basis with Antonio Zamora, Bethesda, Maryland 20816, for a continuation of current services implementing specializes spellcheckers and parsers for operational deployment in the Specialized Information System Search (SIS) Engine. This system provides access to a variety of Toxicology and Environmental Health Databases. Mr. Zamora will build on the prior applied Research and Development work on the specialized spellcheckers and parsers in collaboration with SIS and NLM experts, he will: enhance the SIS A-Z dictionary with terms from the NLM Unified Medical Language System (UMLS); implement a specialized spellchecker for the SIS search engine; implement a specialized chemical name spellchecker for the SIS search engine and the SIS ChemIDPlus System; and refine and implement a specialized phrase parser utilizing the enhanced SIS A-Z Dictionary. This service will be procured under FAR Part 13 (Simplified Acquisitions.) This is not a Request for Quotations (RFQ), nor is an RFQ available, however, all responsible and responsive sources may submit a proposal which will be considered by the NLM. Firms interested in responding to this notice must be able to provide professional services as specified above. Responses should demonstrate the firm's ability to meet the government's requirements.
