Description
The Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, San Francisco, CA. hereby solicits proposals for the following: Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, supplies, and personnel to provide Emergency Systems Monitoring and/or dispatching which includes close-circuit television and other security monitoring services of Government-owned security system for 24-hours, 7-days a week at three shifts at the VA Medical Center San Francisco. One base year, plus four option years. Base year anticipated to start July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2002. The Contractor shall monitor and direct response to all security and life safety communications, radio dispatching, telephone, and other emergency communications ciruits. The work will include receiving information regarding police and emergency incidents, and directing response regarding such incidents; conducting routine testing or emergency systems to include radios, alarms, and code pagers; contacting local state and federal officials for coordination of emergency situations; logging, compiling and preparing reports related to events occurring in the emergency communiation center; and maintaining accurate logs of all radio and alarm activity. Contractor duties also include: monitor video security camera system; perform backup monitoring of the medical center wide fire alaram system; perform monitoring of the medical center wide door and intrusion alarm system; perform monitoring of the medical center wide panic alarm system; perform monitoring of the medical center code system; notification and dispatch of medical center emergency personnel in the event of need via two-way radio and/or pager; maintain radio and phone log; answering the medical center police operations telephone. Contractor must be knowledgeable in police terminology and codes. NOTE: THIS PROCUREMENT HAS HIGH VISIBILITY AND IS CONSIDERED SENSITIVE IN NATURE DUE TO LIFE AND/OR DEATH SITUATIONS UNDER VARIOUS HOSPITAL CODES AND EVENTS THAT AFFECT VA EMPLOYEES, PATIENTS AND VISITORS TO THE FACILITY UNDER THIS PROCUREMENT.
