Description
The US Army CECOM RDEC is conducting a market survey through a sources-sought announcement to identify contractors that can provide commercially available heaters. The new heaters, incorporating up-to-date technology and components, are intended for extreme temperature condition (-20F) with nominal capacity ranging from 30,000 to 100,000 BTUH. The heaters shall be light and portable for mobile use and provide clean, ducted, re-circulated air. The heaters will be used to heat various shelters and equipment. The heaters must be either diesel or JP8 fired, ducted to heating medium (e.g., heater is to be installed outside the shelter), uses forced-air to deliver heat, and requires an external power source (i.e., not stand alone nor not self-powered). The following information is requested: the lowest operable temperature, safety features, overall weight and size, heating output, air flow rate & rated external static pressure, power requirements, outlet air temperature, fuel consumption, and noise level. Responses to this survey must be received via e-mail, within 30 calendar days of the date of this notice or NLT 11 May 2001. Telephone requests for additional information will not be honored. Interested vendors are to furnish one (1) set of descriptive literature, with the response submission via e-mail. This announcement is for information purposes only. Any potential solicitation resulting from this survey will be announced separately. This office will acknowledge receipt of responses received from interested vendors.
