Description

VA Puget Sound intends to negotiate a sole source research contract with Shann Ludwig, a cardiovascular nurse researcher, for initiation and coordination of QI projects for the Ischemic Heart Disease Research Project during the period 4/1/01 through 9/30/02. The proposed contractor will identify clinical champions among the cardiology staff at select medical centers and provide the community contacts necessary to facilitate development of QI projects related to lipid management and Ischemic Heard Disease. No solicitation document exists; this notice is for information purposes only and is not a request for bids. Alternative sources will be considered only if responding with clear and convincing evidence that they possess the qualifications and experience necessary to meet the Research Department's approved protocol. Identified credentials include but are not limited to similar applied research experience in cardiology, experience in organizing research projects and developing community contacts. Responses must be in writing and must be received within 10 calendar days of this notice. The determination to open competition based on responses received is solely within the discretion of the Government.
