Description
Provide all materials, equipment, transportation, incidentals, and perform work to complete the rehab of the kitchens and add sheds at the family housing for the U. S. Coast Guard in Tok, Alaska. The kitchens are located in the fourplex. The sheds are located at the fourplex and the duplex. In addition, garage doors at the U. S. Coast Guard LORAN Station shall be replaced. All work is to be performed in accordance with the Scope of Work and drawings. Rehab work consists of, but is not limited to the removal of cabinets, lighting and countertops and replacement of new cabinets, lighting and countertops as specified. Addition of storage sheds requires grubbing and preparation, placement of fill and concrete foundation and erection of storage shed. Replacement of garage doors at the LORAN Station is to remove two existing upward acting sectional doors and related tracks and openers and installation of new insulated doors, openers and tracks. The time for completion of all work is 100 calendar days from the date of issuance of a purchase order. The estimated cost range for this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. The work required by this solicitation is identified as North American Industry Classification System #234990 and the applicable size standard is $27.5 million dollars in annual receipts for the past three years. This procurement is issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, Public Law 100-656, as implemented by the OFPP Policy Directive and Test Plan dated 8/31/89. This is not a small business set-aside. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the U. S. Coast Guard. Requests for quotation packages must be submitted and received by this office not later than 6 February 2001. For Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to assist minority, women owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontractor at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guarantee of the bid bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
