Description
The U.S. Postal Service is soliciting proposals from prequalified firms for the design and construction of the new Los Angeles, California _ Mar Vista Station. The facility will be constructed on 56,000 square feet of leased property located on the corner of Venice Boulevard and Grand View Boulevard in the city of Los Angeles. The project includes the demolition of an existing 22,500 square foot building and the design and construction of a new 77,000 square foot above ground multi level structure of which 51,000 square feet is parking. Site development and improvements include new fencing, paving, drainage, and exterior lighting. Design of the site improvements and building will be in accordance with local code requirements and the Postal Service 2000 Design Standards and Criteria for Medium Standard Building Design (MSBD). The design/build contractor will be required to give a presentation to the City of Los Angeles at the 30% and 100% design stages. Estimated cost range is $6-$7 million. Funding approval for this project is expected prior to contract award. The work is to be completed within 365 calendar days from the notice to proceed date. Offers will not be publicly opened. All proposal information will remain confidential until contract award. The minority subcontracting goal for this project will be 11%.
