Description

The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis a nine month contract with Parker Research Services (PRS), 3 Peppergrass, Irvine, California 92604 for a project entitled "Longitudinal Analysis of Alcohol Abuse and Dependence among Blacks and Non-Blacks." The statutory authority to negotiate with PRS is 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) under FAR reference 6.302-1. The purpose of the proposed contract is to conduct three secondary analyses of the National Longitudinal Survey of Labor Market Experience in Youth (NLSY) data sets for 1979-1994, on determinants of alcohol use and alcohol-related disorders among African Americans. PRS is the only known source possessing the requisite expertise, knowledge and familiarity with the NLSY dataset necessary to perform this project.
