Description

Install Air Conditioning in Dormitory, T-131 at Lajes Field, Azores, Portugal. The project includes non-hazardous and hazardous material removal and abatement, installation of oil fired water heaters, modification of the fire alarm system, and provision of a fire suppression system. Items to be replaced and upgraded are: windows, heating and ventilation system, battery powered emergency lights, and transformer and electrical service. Telephone, cable television jacks, and an aboveground fuel tank are to be installed. In addition, building surfaces will be removed and replaced to allow for mechanical, electrical, and fire protection work. The project performance period is expected to be 270 calendar days. The magnitude of this project is between 500,000 and 1,000,000 dollars. Performance Price tradeoffs (PPT) procedures will be utilized for this procurement and proposals will be solicited on a firm-fixed price lump sum basis. North American Industry Classification System assigned to this acquisition is 23511. This requirement is RESTRICTED to Mainland Portugal and its territories in accordance with the Bilateral Agreement between Portugal and the United States dated 1995. The request for Proposal (RFP) package will be available for downloading and viewing at Electronic Posting System (EPS) at http://www.eps.gov or at our Internet homepage: http://www.lajes.af.mil then click on Business Opportunities, then click on solicitations on or about mid Jan 01 (subject to change). A pre-proposal conference and a site visit will be held at Lajes Field on or about mid Feb 01 (subject to change). The RFP package will be available on the Internet only. There will be no hard copies of this solicitation issued. The solicitation, plans, specifications, or drawings will not be provided in a printed paper format; however, the Government reserves the right to revert to paper medium when it is determined to be in the Government_s best interest. All proposals and other normal documents required for the proposal submittal, including amendments to the proposal submittal, shall be in paper medium.
