Description
The Agency for Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, through the Program Support Center, General Acquisitions branch, plans to award a 12 month sole source simplified acquisition to American Indian Training Institute. The anticipated date of award is February 2, 2001. The Contractor shall be responsible for, but not limited but not limited to the following: A. The contractor shall identify 20 trainers/consultants with prerequisite skills to train American Indian treatment providers and Targeted Capacity Expansion services providers with NIDA, CSAT, and/or other appropriate training materials that conform to state counselor certification training. B. The contractor shall develop a proceeding of the training conference. The proceeding shall contain, at a minimum, the following: summary of workshop presentation, workshop evaluation data, program and tribal affiliation of participants, technical assistance needs assessment developed by the contractor, and a report on new drug trends in the American Indian community. The proceedings shall be forwarded to the project officer no later than 60 days after the conference. C. The contractor shall contact the Targeted Capacity Expansion awardees and coordinate their planning and participation in the conference. D. The contractor shall make available to CSAT three rooms to conduct program reviews of the CSAT TCE grantees; to present and provide technical assistance about SAMHSA GFA's and how to writ grant applications and to conduct a cultural/traditional task force meeting. E. The contractor shall contact the Center for Disease Control National Diabetes education Task Force and request that they collaborate with the American Indian Training Institute Inc.'s (AITI) diabetes workshop and present an American Indian Diabetes exhibit. The proposed simplified acquisition is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest by responding to the requirement within 10 days after the date of publication of this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed simplified acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
