Description
This is a market research survey to locate sources for the acquisition of the REMBASS II Sensors. The sensors are the following: Kit, Seismic/Acoustic (NSN 6350-01-477-7680), Kit, Infrared Plug In, (NSN 6350-01-477-7680), Kit, Magnetic Plug In, (NSN 6350-01-477-7756), Motion Detector, S/A (NSN 6350-01-474-2357), Motion Detector, IR (NSN 6350-01-474-2359), and Motion Detector, MAG (NSN 6350-01-474-2360). The Seismic/Acoustic sensor monitors the seismic (earth tremors) and acoustic (sound) activity in its detection radius. The Infrared sensor responds to temperatures changes in a narrow field of view directly in front of the transducer only. The Magnetic sensor responds to disturbances in the earth's magnetic field surrounding the sensors transducer a magnetometer that is internally mounted. The current source for these items is L3COMM (Developer), Cage Code 11447. Detailed technical data is not available for these sensors. The sensors shall be interoperable with the existing I-REMBASS equipment. Suppliers capable of furnishing these units must so indicate, by writing to Commander, USA CECOM, ATTN: AMSEL-LC-IEW-C-SN, Building 1201E, Ft. Monmouth, NJ 07703-5000. The response must include documentation such as test results, copy of purchase order if the supplier was a vendor to the listed source or a statement from listed source demonstrating that the supplier can, in fact, supply the Army with a unit that will physically and functionally interchangeable with the unit from the previous supplier. Successful supplier may be required to warrant that the item supplied will satisfactorily perform when used for the purpose intended by the Army. For more information contact Mr. Edwin Rivera, (732)427-5200 or Mr. Jose Florido, (732)532-9868. The deadline for this response is January 29, 2001.
