Description

R -- The U.S. Dept. of Commerce/NOAA/NWS/Hydrologic Services Division intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with RCS Communications, Inc. to provide communications design modifications and install, test and troubleshoot equipment associated with reconfiguration of the National Weather Service (NWS) Integrated Flood Observing and Warning System (IFLOWS). The proposed contractor meets the following specified requirements: 1) Thorough understanding of Automated Local Evaluation in Real Time (ALERT) data format; 2) Knowledge/experience in the following: a. Analog radio communications system design; b. Analog data transmission through wireless media; c. VHF/UHF and microwave radio antenna installation and troubleshooting; d. Integrated Flood Observing and Warning System (IFLOWS) software; 3) Familiarity with IFLOWS radio networks throughout New York and Pennsylvania. Period of Performance: Twelve months from Date of Award. This is a notice of intent and cannot be considered a solicitation; therefore, no solicitation package exists. Award will be made using simplified acquisition procedures. (Reference No. 03-1-00003)
